Great Giveaway Check it out

Our Friends over at Whimsy Couture are hosting a great giveaway this week. They are giving one of there readers an opportunity to get a great pair of Bella Nova Squeaky Shoes.
About Bella Nova Squeaky Shoes
Squeaky shoes have always been special to our family. My daughter Sarah was barely over a year old when someone left our front door open. As most parents know, this can cause unimaginable tragedy! Fortunately, Sarah was wearing her squeaky shoes. As I was preparing breakfast in the kitchen I suddenly noticed that her "squeaks" were growing faint. It immediately alerted me. I followed the sound to discover my daughter was about to hit the side walk of our busy corner street. Her "squeaks" that day may have saved her life.

A few months later Bella was born. Bella required physical therapy due to hypotonia, or "low tone", from the age of 4 months until she was almost two. When Bella finally began to pull up to a standing position, she was already 18 months old. Squeaky shoes gave her that reward and encouragement to take the first few steps and to keep trying. The sound of the "squeak" urged her to get back up after falling repeatedly. In just a month, she was able to build up enough strength to begin to walk on her own. Shortly after, she was released from physical therapy and today at 4 years old is just as capable as other children her age. Bella is my inspiration for Bella Nova Squeaky Shoes. We hope you find our squeaky shoes to be as fun and enjoyable as we do. My girls still wear them (although with the squeaks removed!), with designs so cute and funky they are impossible to give up!

How adorable are these shoes.....

I have to say that I absolutely love Squeaky shoes not only to keep track of your little run away for by for C it was because of her Hyotonia, I loved loved loved squeaky shoes. It is nice because they are so adorably cute but a great therapy tool. If you get a minute stitch on over to Whimsy Couture's blog and enter in a great giveaway they not only carry a line of girls shoes but boys as well.

Review Aivilo Charlotte's

Pattern Review

I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with Lisa over at Aivilo Charlotte on this wonderful review. I had come across her wonderful sewing patterns on one of my favorite hot spots for sewing patterns YCMT, I think this is a hot spot for all of us sewing mommies. She make the cutest bag patterns and since I'm a bag-aholic I just had to have one... two... three well you get the point. I was so excited when Lisa chose me to review her Aivilo Pocket Tote Bag. This wonderful pattern comes with 4 different sizes to choose from, small, medium, large, and extra- large.

I was so excited to receive this pattern because May 4th was the beginning of Teacher appreciation week and I just knew this is what I had to make for B's teachers. I love making bags and could not wait to see how this one was constructed. The first impression that I got from the pattern that it was full of pictures, this is nice because it allows you not only to pick the size of the bag that you want to make but also different fabric options that you can choose, as well as pocket variations. The e-book was well written and the hardest part normally of any bag construction is making sure that you have the appropriate interfacing so the construction of the bag is sturdy as well as easy to assemble. This bag takes about 2 hours to finish so its a great last minute gift idea and easy to make for any outfit or event. I loved working with Lisa and have attached a few pictures of the 2 gifts that I made for B's Teachers.

This bag has a Guidance flower on one pocket and poppy seeds on the other

The embroidery designs on this one is live, laugh, love and the other one is hope, faith and love

REVIEW Whimsy Couture

Pattern Review

Denise over at Whimsy Couture is bringing the vintage styles that all of us sewing mamma's are falling back in love with. I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with her on a review for an adorable Strappy Dress or Top.

This adorable dress has so many different options from a halter style strap top, to a bubble top or dress, or button straps in the back. The options are endless. When I first received this pattern I wasn't sure what I was going to put together with C's red hair and summer approaching the only thing I could think of was fruit... Maybe I was hungry. Anyways, the thought came to me that with Farmers Markets opening how cute would this top be paired with some matching carpi's. I started out thinking the bubble top....HMMM this is going to be difficult but Denise's pattern is not only easy to understand but is extremely detailed with step by step directions and detailed pictures along the way.

This particular pattern also came with an additional options page with more detailed instructions on sizing for the bubble top, verses the dress and how to alter the pattern accordingly. The instructions were not only easy to understand, but Denise kept in constant contact with me to make sure that i didn't have any questions, and to make sure when printing patterns that I didn't scale the printer settings. She was a joy to work with on this project and has offered a great giveaway to one of my readers stay tuned this week for more details. I can not wait to share this wonderful opportunity with you all my friends and fellow sewing junkies. Stay tuned for more details to come .

Review Trotter Sweet Peas

Pattern Review
I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with Melinda over at Trotter Sweet Peas, she has the most adorable patterns for that little princess in your life. I find myself browsing Etsy, eBay and many other sites when looking for new whimsical patterns for my little one. She is such a diva so I try to not only make items that fit her personality but are also function able. Melinda is awesome she has been such a joy to work with on this review, The e-books came via email within minutes of speaking with her about the review.

The Halter Dress

The Halter Top
The first impression I got from the e-book was not only were they well written, but they were written in a way any level of sewer could understand which is a huge PLUS. My second impression, Melinda takes pride in her e-patterns, because not only were they well written, detailed instructions, but she has multiple photos to explain and show you were you should be each step of the way. This allowed for quick turn around on each pattern. I would highly recommend these patterns for any level of sewer, I have attached a few pictures of the items that I created with these patterns, I was able to do the dress in 2 hours start to finish and the top took me a little under and hour and half.

The Halter Top
This is the Top that I made and paired it with a cute pair of matching capri's, it was so much fun to make and my little Red looked so cute in her Skull Outfit I just love this fabric from Alexander Henry. I'm so pleased with how this outfit turned out.
The Halter Dress I made
This adorable halter style dress was not only easy to make but the directions for adding the double ruffle were so precise and detailed. This dress took me 2 hours from start to finish. I love the Michael Miller fabric that I used.
